Dear Friends,

Greetings from the hot, muggy south! In August my husband and I moved from northern Michigan to North Carolina so he can begin graduate school at Duke University. We're slowly getting used to life down here, cicadas and fried food notwithstanding.

Here are highlights of my recent adventures, along with sneak peeks of my soon-to-be-released Narnia devo, ►Walking Through the Wardrobe (October 1), now available for preorder through my website.

June: I was interviewed on ►FaithfulReader.com. Great stuff!

July: Walking with Bilbo won the "Best Youth Book" category of the ►Logos Book Awards, announced at the annual Christian Booksellers Convention in Colorado.

August: My husband and I made the big trek to North Carolina. Hurricane Katrina slammed the Gulf Coast (our chosen relief organization is ►UMCOR).

September: I signed on to be a ►"Narnia Speaker" with ►Outreach, the official church resource provider of the Narnia movie. So from now until January 2006, interested churches are encouraged to contact Outreach to book me for Narnia-movie-related events: 1-866-400-2036.

October 28-Nov. 2: I'm back "home" for the ►Northern Michigan C. S. Lewis Festival.

November 3-5: I speak to teens, parents & youth leaders at the Gaither's annual ►Praise Gathering in Indianapolis.
