Dear friends,

Greetings from...wait -- what state am I in again? Oh, yeah: we're back in Durham, NC!  We had a wonderful summer in Richmond, VA, where my husband had an internship at a local church as part of his graduate studies at Duke University Divinity School. He starts classes again today, and I've got my nose to the grindstone (read: laptop) in order to hit a major deadline this month. Are we geeks, or what?

Anyway, we won't stay in one place for long: we're moving AGAIN in October to join some friends in a Christian community called Isaiah House in east Durham, which houses both long-term ministry partners (like us) and short-term guests who are temporarily homeless. The neighborhood itself is in need of some hope, and together with our local church (which is just a few blocks away), we envision the area becoming an epicenter for revitalization in east Durham. Meanwhile, I'm STILL plugging away at two major writing projects: one is a resource for youth pastors entitled The God-Hungry Imagination: The Art of Storytelling for Postmodern Youth Ministry (Upper Room Books, 2007); and the other is a OneYear devotional for Tyndale's youth line (thirsty? 2007). I'm also looking forward to the fourth annual C. S. Lewis Festival in Petoskey, MI, which kicks off in late October: www.cslewisfestival.org. Narnia fans don't want to miss out!
