February 2005

Dear Friends and Fellow Fantasy-junkies,

Greetings from the snowy north! We’re currently in the grip of the White Witch here in Michigan but have hopes that Aslan will soon (?) be on the move. Meanwhile, here are some updates from the world of Walking with Frodo:

  • If you’re sensing a Narnian theme to this newsletter, that’s because I’m now in the midst of writing my fourth book, due for release this fall, entitled Walking Through the Wardrobe: A Devotional Quest into The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Yep, Tyndale’s "thirsty?" line is getting ready once again to help students, youth workers, parents, home-school folks, and fantasy-junkies go "further in" to the spiritual themes in a fantasy classic—just in time for the blockbuster movie this Christmas. We’ll keep you updated!
  • Walking with Bilbo has been released and is now available in bookstores around the country as well as through our updated and "made-easier" order webpage. If you’ve had trouble or given up on ordering through www.saraharthur.com before, I encourage you to give it another try now. This is the only place you can get signed and personalized editions of my books—plus, we offer a great group discount.
  • Calling all romance (and Colin Firth) fans! Dating Mr. Darcy: A Smart Girl’s Guide to Sensible Romance, inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, is on target for release in June and is now available to preorder through my website. Know any girls that love Jane Austen, Keira Knightley, or the topic of boys (duh!)? This is the perfect gift or small group guide. And check out the fun cover (see right).
  • If you’re interested in discussing my books (as well as topics like fantasy & faith, Tolkien, Lewis, or Jane Austen), you might want to join the SarahArthurBooks Google discussion group. If there isn’t a topic listed that interests you, feel free to start a new one.
  • Upcoming book-signings include:
March 12th – Horizon Bookstore in downtown Petoskey, MI; 1-3 p.m.
March 19th – Rainbow Bookstore in Traverse City, MI, 1-3 p.m

That’s all for now (and plenty!). Blessings to all of you during this season of Lent. May we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.

In Him,

"It means," said Aslan, "that though the Witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still which she did not know."
