Nov - Dec 2005
Dear friends,
For those of you who are new to my e-newsletter, welcome! I've had a
busy couple of months traveling and speaking, but it's been a pleasure
to meet so many new people. As the Narnia movie approaches December 9,
the hype only builds. I can't wait!
Here are some updates from my end:
My latest devotional ►Walking
Through the Wardrobe: A Devotional Quest Into The Lion, the Witch and
the Wardrobe
has been selected by ►Outreach,
Inc. as an official Narnia™ church resource. Don't forget,
you can order signed copies through my ►website
in time for Christmas.
If you're in the Atlanta,
GA area December 10-12, I'll be co-leading a Narnia seminar with Lewis
scholar Dabney Hart on Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m. at the AMC Theatres
in Phipps Plaza. The event is sponsored by Christian Church Buckhead and
is free to the public following the matinee showing of the Narnia movie.

Meanwhile, for all you Jane Austen
fans out there, the answer is "Yes, I've seen it" (the new adaptation of ►Pride
& Prejudice, that is). I'm still trying
to figure out what I think. It's visually fascinating, though the script
at times is dreadful. For the record, my husband found it "surprisingly
enjoyable" (!) -- minus the last scene, which is basically ridiculous.
Anyway, keep those Keira Knightley fans in mind with Dating Mr. Darcy
(at right).
I'm still doing an online ►3-Book Special
in which you can buy all three of my
fantasy-related devos together and receive
free shipping (within the contiguous US).
Hmm, anything else? Not much, just that Tom is settling into life in
academia at Duke, which suits him very well indeed. It's hard to believe
it's almost time for exams...
Blessings to all this Advent!

"Didn't I tell you,"
answered Mr. Beaver, "that she'd made it always winter and never
Christmas? Didn't I tell you?
Well, just come and see!"

Wardrobe, by C. S. Lewis
