        November 2003

Dear Friends, Family, and Fellow LOTR-junkies,

Greetings! It’s an exciting month in the Arthur household as my first book, Walking with Frodo: A Devotional Journey through The Lord of the Rings, hits Christian and mainstream bookstores nationwide – and as the Petoskey Area C.S. Lewis Festival is underway (www.cslewisfestival.org).

Walking with Frodo is enjoying extraordinary success! In the midst of my various radio interviews and book-signings, Frodo continues to climb the sales ranks of Amazon.com. If any of you feel inspired to give it a "cracking" review for Amazon’s website, feel free. Click here to see what other reviewers have said: BookLoons Review
About.com

But here’s the really mind-boggling news: according to the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, Frodo was the #1 bestselling book in the "Christian Young Adult Interest" category for the first week of November (that’s sweeping all categories, including youth fiction such as the Left Behind series) AND, the Christian Booksellers Association projects it will be #8 overall in that same category for the month of December. Visit CBA, scroll to "Kids" and then click on "Young Adult Books." Amazing!

Other highlights:

  • Look for an article about me as a Michigan author in an upcoming issue of the Detroit Free Press (religion section). We’ll post the exact date on my website as soon as we know it. What fun!
  • To hear a recording of one of my most recent radio interviews with a Christian station in Duluth, MN, click here:
  • My article "A Reluctant Convert" appeared in the November/December issue of Relevant magazine, along with a companion article on their website ("If Mrs. Tolkien had Written The Lord of the Rings"): I’m also interviewed for their main feature on LOTR. Relevant Magazine.
  • The next local book-signing is on Saturday, November 22 from 1-3 p.m. at Horizon Bookstore in downtown Petoskey.

As always, I ask for your prayers.

Blessings,

Sarah
